Yo! The shoutbox is a new feature to EC, but it is still very much a part of the forums and the forums rules still apply. A full list of the forum rules are available here; ignorance of the rules is no excuse. Break the rules and you will be banned from the shoutbox. 

If you have a problem with how someone is posting in the shoutbox, please file a report to one of our lovely moderators (list of the current mod team). Include the name of the user as well as the approximate time of the shouts, or else we cannot help you.
