What was your attitude towards the site when you first joined?
Indifferent.

What was the attitude of the site in general?
It was, and still is emo.

Did people pick on you for something you did? Or just because you were new?

I was greeted with the ever-so-pretentious attitude that flows in the veins of all older members of most message boards.

How did you get involved in the site?
An anonymous friend had given me a link to this message board, and I registered shortly after.

Who were the first members to welcome you?
There were none that did.

How well known do you think you are now?
I am unknown, and so shall I remain.

Is there anything you did as a newbie that you'd advise others not to?
No.

Yeah...ask Spartan aka Kane and Jessica what I did. It was a horrible mistake on my part. I got a little upset because some of my pictures didn't get the kind of rating I was hoping for and decided to post a thread about it. Very dumb and unneeded on my part.

I was under the impression that the site was going to be filled with a bunch of 'emo posers'. Turns out I was right for the majority of the population of EC, save for the amazing people who frequently post.

After I started getting around to posting? It was really amusing.

+ Did people pick on you for something you did? Or just because you were new?
Personally, no. I was going through a rough time in my life, and some members were actually really kind to me. And, it helped that I had good literacy skills, rofl.

+ How were you treated by the already established members on the site?
Not too badly. Of course there were the few members who felt they were far too superior to listen to someone who had just recently joined, but the other members were actually really understanding.

+ How did you get involved in the site?
For a few months at a time, I was a frequent poster, and I got into a little 'community' of EC members who spoke over MSN... yes, I'm that lame..

+ Who were the first members to welcome you?
VaXity, Niks, Conviction, Chaotix119, and probably a few others I can't remember off the top of my head.

+ How well known do you think you are now?
Not at all, but I'm sure someone remembers me occasionally... >.>

Don't take the posts too seriously. You will just end up in a big pile of disappointment & hurt.

Yeah, I accidently pissed off the wrong people, got flammed majorly and cried myself to sleep that night. But in reality I got my act together and sorted myself out. I'm mildly ashamed of who I was before.

On that point. I'd like to say to you guys, yes, there is a forum hierarchy. It happens in most forums. But that doesn't mean it doesn't change, and very quickly too. When I joined one of the most respected members then, is going through a stage now of being hated by the majority. So don't get bogged down in it, just let it be.

It doesn't mean that people won't welcome you and be friendly. It just means there might be private jokes, people calling each other by their actual names, and it'll take a little while before that can happen with you.


Hell I floated around for a good eight months not really talking to people that much, just posting in the occasional thread, noone gave me any hassle.
