Deadpool IS awesome, good call. I can't pick just one though.
Jackie Estacado/ The Darkness from The Darkness series:
Marv from Sin City:
Of course, Rorschach from the Watchmen (not the movie):
Death from the Sandman Chronicles (I love how whenever she talks to her brother, Dream, she basically just says "Oh, quit your whining."):
Galactus (the dude's just hungry) and the Silver Surfer (they're a team!):

Already a few of my favs in here (Jackie E., Marv, Deadpool).
I'm going to have to add:
and
I like Moloch because the idea of a burnt-out villain on a fixed income and fighting cancer is tragically hilarious.

Well ok I'm gonna buck trend and go with a mainstream character here:
The Sentient Self Aware Ironman Armour from Hypervelocity. Its just fantastic creation that is essentially a pop culture fuelled cyberpunk obsessive tony stark that is battling a computer virus that manifests itself as a tragically hot goth chica.
Also another Adam Warren creation here: Elisa Megan Powers aka Empowered, possibly the best showing of a truely "human" super heroine.
Next up something a little different but altogether fantastic and thats Grunge from Wildstorms Gen-13.
And finally probably one of my all time favourite comic book characters, simply for being a wonderfully dark take on something everyone else had written as a simple super saiyen DBZ style frame work, the writer and artist (Nigel Kitching/Richard Elson respectively) took this established idea for a beloved character and made it so that it wasn't a way out of a conflict, it made everything worse and resulted in a massive amounts of destruction and death.
Sonic the Comic UK's version of Super Sonic.
