My uncle flies a lot to Almaty in Kazakhstan for business. When I was little he brought me and my brother souvenirs. One of the souvenirs was a small magnet with a picture of Almaty on it. I asked him many times to bring back more and one year for my birthday he presented me a glass frame with 87 magnets with pictures of Almaty and Kazakhstan. I counted all of them. I have it now too and it hangs in my room.
Tackiest Souvenirs The World Has Seen

Someone I know bought me a minature of the Statue of Liberty for me when I was around 13(?). Haha.
Aside from that, I can't really think of souvenirs, I mean, at least not tacky ones. We do buy souvenirs, but ever so rarely from souvenir shops, I can't recall ever really seeing my parents in one, as in one of the street ones. There's only two places I remember buying souvenirs, I got a huge mug from the Eiffel Tower for my mum and a notebook for myself. Then from a gift shop from Shakespeare's home town, I got my dad a mug this time round (but my mum uses it) and myself a Yorick key chain that's on my purse. Though, I do have two kinda souvenir type traditions as it were; everytime I look around an old stately home, museum or something along those lines, I like to buy one of those leather bookmarks; I have a lot now. The second one is when I'm at conventions I habitually buy a necklace, which can very well be the only thing I buy.
